Talk therapy helps kids control diabetes

This Internet newsletter cites a juvenile diabetes study led by Deborah Ellis of the WSU School of Medicine. The study found that children with diabetes can reduce their stress levels and improve their blood sugar control by participating in a program of intensive home-based psychotherapy. Ellis said almost all the children in the "multi-systemic" therapy program had better control of their blood sugar by the end of the study.
